Our computer means
URANUS Computer codes and tools
URANUS holds the following computer tools:
- ORIGEN 2.2: Computer code system using a matrix exponential method for calculating the buildup, decay, and processing of radioactive materials;
- ORIGEN-S: ORIGEN 2.2 version implemented in SCALE code system;
- FISPACT: European Activation SYStem (EASY)computer code system using a matrix exponential method for calculating the buildup, decay, and processing of radioactive materials and structural material;
- SCALE / KENO-VI: Criticality computational sequence (3D) using a Monte Carlo method;
- SCALE / TRITON: Evolution computational sequence (3D), implemented in SCALE code system, using among other things ORIGEN-S and KENO-VI computational sequences;
- TRIPOLI: Monte Carlo code simulating nuclear processes, used for particles transports, criticality and radiation shielding 3D calculations.
- MNCP: Monte Carlo system code simulating nuclear processes, used for radiation shielding and criticality 3D calculations;
- CAST3M: 3D calculation system code developed by the CEA for structural analysis with the Finite Element Method (FEM). CAST3M deals with linear and non-linear elasticity problems in static and dynamic fields. CAST3M can also solve coupled structure-fluid problems;
- CRISTAL: Criticality calculation system code that includes calculation codes proposing either a Monte Carlo calculation method or a determinist one, processes, nuclear data libraries and interface tools.
Furthermore, URANUS internally develops computer tools (C, C++, java…), particularly for criticality and neutronic studies.
Complementary computer skills
URANUS possesses recognized skills in other computer codes:
- Impact and environment calculations: CERES, CASIMIR;
- Thermic and mechanic calculations and studies: CATIA, AUTOCad, ANSYS;
- Thermohydraulic and severe nuclear accident calculation: CATHARE, FLICA, NEPTURE, ASTEC.
